Lexee's Legacy holds over 75 mobile adoptions each year with between 15 and 20 dogs attending. Most of the dogs that attend adoption live at our sanctuary in Celina, TX and must be transported to the adoption location. According to Ken Wells, Director of Business and Operations for Lexee's Legacy, "one of the most difficult aspects of our adoptions was transporting the dogs. We usually needed six cars."

Following the build-out of our temporary shelter in Celina TX, Lexee's Legacy 's next capital purchase was a 26-foot bus to transport the animals to adoptions and veterinary visits in safety and comfort. "If anyone has ever flown American Airlines and been bused to a small plane, you'll recognize our new bus," states Ken. "The bus is everything that we wanted it to be. We can transport the dogs and all of our supplies. With the bus, our set-up and take-down time at adoptions has been reduced by 75%, allowing us to focus on the animals and prospective parents."

Now that Lexee's Legacy has the adoption bus, we will be increasing our adoption to two sites per week and will be able to more easily participate in special events in the Metroplex.

"Our next focus is to get Lexee's Legacy graphics for the bus. American Airlines took their graphics off, so the bus is a little bare right now", states David Wilson, Director of Marketing. "We have already designed the graphics for the bus, including a 'honk if you love dogs' sticker for the back window! Bus graphics will be a great way to get the Lexee's Legacy name out to the community and could be a 'people-stopper' at our mobile adoptions."
